How Friend Camp Works
2 Nights at a Glamping Campground
Enjoy two nights at Sailor Springs Glamping Campground, where the entire hike in campground becomes your private home base for a friends getaway. Friends Camp includes the full site with two glamping tents and one cozy cabin, tucked into a peaceful forest setting just outside Bayfield. With the campground all to yourselves, there is plenty of space to relax, gather around the fire, share meals, and enjoy unhurried time together in nature.

A Private Sailing Adventure
One day of your Friends Camp experience includes a private two hour sailing charter with True North Sailing Charters, departing just minutes away from the campground in Bayfield, Wisconsin. This is a private group sail for your friends only, offering a relaxed and scenic way to experience Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands from the water.
Group Kayak Expedition
On the other day, your group heads out for a private Apostle Islands Sea Caves kayak tour with WhiteCap Kayak. This guided two and a half hour experience is designed exclusively for your friends and explores the stunning sandstone cliffs and sea caves of Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, creating a relaxed, shared adventure on the water together.

When you are not sailing or kayaking, the Bayfield area offers plenty to explore at your own pace. Through ventures like Sailor Springs Glamping, North Channel Cabin, and Marengo River Cabin, they have welcomed guests seeking meaningful time outdoors paired with thoughtful, well run accommodations. Their approach is rooted in local knowledge, attention to detail, and a genuine love for the places they share with visitors.
In addition to lodging, Abe and Josh operate True North Sailing Charters, a locally based outfitter that has introduced countless guests to Bayfield and the Apostle Islands from the water. From sailing Lake Superior to exploring the shoreline by kayak, their experiences are designed to be personal, unhurried, and deeply connected to the landscape.

What an incredible experience. 5 stars. We had a day to get away, explore the Apostle Islands National Seashore with family, and True North + Captain Weston made it a reality. We chose the 5 hour tour and it was everything and more we could have asked for.
